I am beginning to see a bit of a pattern on my blog… hemp ERRYTHANG….and for good reason!
Hemp is a powerhouse of nutrition, whether your having the seeds, oil, flour or protein powder all come with their own benefits!
I am not going to go on and on about it, because I have already done so in previous posts, but trust me, HEMP IS DA BOMB.
These bars not only contain hemp, they also have maca powder, chia seeds, raw cacao powder ( & butter!) and of course trusty almonds! So you are getting a serious bang for your buck when you devour one of these babies and your energy levels will be soaring all afternoon! It is important to ensure your snacks are well balanced meaning they contain protein, fats and carbohydrates as this will mean they keep you fuller for longer!
Raw Hemp Power Bars
- 20 medjool dates
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 4 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp maca powder
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder (optional)
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 100g cacao butter
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- Place dates, almond butter, oats, cashews, coconut, 2 tbsp of hemp seeds, protein powder coconut oil, salt, vanilla and cinnamon into your food processor and blend until sticky. This may take some time wiping down the sides of the machine too
- Once sticky place mixture into a bowl and using your hands, mix through the sesame, chia and extra 2 tbsp of hemp seeds
- Press the mixture into a lined baking tray, pressing down to smooth the top, and place into the fridge
- Melt the coconut oil and cacao butter slowly in the microwave then mix through the cacao powder and maple
- Pour the chocolate over the top of the bars and and place back into the fridge for at least an hour to set
- Slice up and EAT. or store in the fridge or freezer!
