This is a super quick recipe, only one ingredient! Coconut butter is so versatile and can be used in so many different things! It can however be quite expensive. Making it yourself is so easy and SO much cheaper!
Coconut Butter
- Shredded coconut (make sure its unsweetened)
- Chuck all of your coconut into a food processor – use a lot! you want to completely fill the processor, if you dont use enough it will not turn into butter
- Blend until it turns into oily butter! – be patient! It will take anywhere from 10 – 20 minutes depending on your machine, and you will have to scrape the sides a few times!
Too easy! If your like me and dont really enjoy the flavour of coconut oil (sinful!), coconut butter is a fantastic alternative in many recipes! Or simply eat it on toast, dolloped on oatmeal or by the spoonful! It will be solid at room temperature, simply warm slightly in the microwave to get it nice and gooey again! Enjoy!

Hi! Do you think I can use a blender for this? Love your blog btw x
Hi Sherry! thankyou lovely π I am not too sure that a blender would work quite as well, but I have never tried so might be worth a go! Let me know if it works out! xxx
You’re not alone, I don’t like the flavour of coconut oil either! Hate it in most recipes so I’m always so sceptical when I see recipes that use large amounts of it! But cocnut butter, I LOVE the stuff! Gorgeous blog you’ve got, just came across it from your post on instagram π
Thankyou lovely! I’m glad someone else understands! Haha hope you enjoy my recipes xx
Hi. Could you give me some ideas of easy ways to use coconut butter? I recently bought a jar of it, but I’m pretty clueless about using it π
Hey! Some of the easiest ways to use coconut butter would just be spread on toast, or dolloped onto of warm oatmeal! You can also add a spoonful into your smoothies to add some flavour and healthy fats, or try making my peanut butter fudge! Hope this helps π
