This smoothie is so thick and creamy you may think you accidentally chucked in a few spoonfuls of ice cream into the blender, but fear not, it is full of wholesome ingredients to keep you fueled up all morning!
Before I began making smoothies on a regular basis I used to always think you could never get them to taste as good as the real thing, oh how wrong I was! Once you taste this bad boy it will be hard to turn back, especially considering you could even add a shot of espresso to really kick start your morning!
Maca is optional in this recipe but totally recommended. Maca root is known to provide caffeine free energy meaning no mid morning drop in energy levels as well as the added health benefits this super food provides! this includes hormonal balance which can be essential, especially at the start of the week. So give maca a go and see how you feel!
Choc Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie – Serves 1 Generously or 2 small serves
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 2 tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
- 1/4 Cup natural/coconut/soy yoghurt
- 1 Tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 Tsp chia seed
- 1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
- 1 Tsp Maca (optional)
- 1 Tbsp Protein Powder (optional)
- Almond Milk Added Until Desired Consistency
- Chuck all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth!
Super quick and easy and is sure to keep you going all morning, and it is DELICIOUS!
